Dr Virender Kumar Gautam is a respected and renowned clinical surgeon and academician, Having 39 years of experience in the field of Orthopaedics.
He is a teaching faculty for under-graduates and post-graduates at the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi on subjects like Surgical Skills Course and Instructional Course for PG Clinical training among other things. He is invited to prestigious medical schools in the country like AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, Pune, Kolkata, Indore etc to speak on PG courses.
Dr Gautam also gets invitations as an examiner in DNB Orthopaedics and MS Orthopaedics medical colleges all over India. He conducted training of young Orthopaedic surgeons in the art of knee replacement surgery for 6 years under the Delhi arthroplasty course (De-Puy international). He is appointed an Inspector by the National Board of Examinations.
He has 32 national publications, 44 international publications, and contributed chapters in many medical books. In 1999, he was elected to the National Academy of Medical Sciences due to his noteworthy contribution to his field. He was also awarded the prestigious KT Dholakia travelling fellowship in Joint Replacement surgery by the Indian Arthroplasty Association in 2003.
