Dr. Imran Shaikh is a renowned Surgical Gastroenterologist, with experiences of over 13 years. He is highly skilled in performing Minimal Access Surgeries, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeries and Open Abdomen Surgeries.
He has created a world record by operating and removing 1.7 kg Gall Bladder Cyst in a patient. He was awarded with Travel Bursary at IASGCON for two consecutive years, 2010 and 2012 and the same at NATCON 2010. He was an Invited Faculty (Pancreatic Session) at IASG, Pune 2015.
He is a member of various prestigious associations like: Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI), Association of Medical Consultant of Mumbai (AMC) and Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology (IASG). His quest for knowledge keeps him engaged in research and publications.
After graduating with MBBS from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in 1998, he pursued DNB in General Surgery in Mumbai Port Trust Hospital in 2005. Then he did DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology (GI, HPB Surgery, GI Cancer, and Liver Transplant) from Fortis Hospital, Mumbai in 2008. Later he did Fellowship on HPB Surgery, Liver Transplant from Freeman Institute, UK, Fellowship in HPB Surgeries and GI Cancer at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute, Lucknow, Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Minimal Access Surgeries (FMAS), Coimbatore.
