Lumbar laminectomy for the spine or spinal decompression is a medical procedure involving the impingement of the nerves in the lumbar spine.
Due to several factors, including injury, canal narrowing down, tumour and a herniated disc, there could be an increase in the pressure on the nerve roots or spinal cord. This surgery helps to release pressure by removing a part or entire vertebral bone.
